The membership of this Society shall profit individuals and corporate bodies through:
- Technical Development: The Society develops professional skills in their members through Publication, Training, Workshops, Conference and Seminars. WAMASON has designed training courses to improve and broaden the knowledge of her members. These courses are offered at Vocational and Management levels. The Society can also develop a limited number of in-house organization specific training courses for corporate members. WAMASON has Technical Working Groups for development industry best practices and the works of these Groups are made available to members of the Society to develop their skills and improve their practice. As an incentive, a discount of up to 20% for individual membership and 15% for corporate bodies are offered to members on Society’s activities.
- Industry Information: The Society makes available to members the latest news and trade information in waste management industry including legislation, policy, technology and best practice, event and international training courses. All targeted at the development of personal qualities and competence, set corporate standards and boost corporate image.
- Participation and Representation: Members’ views are well represented to government, national and international agencies as they have the opportunity of participating in national and international consultation processes. The Society also gives notifications for such national and international consultation processes to her members to keep them abreast with industry activities.
- Business Development: WAMASON is extensively networking with other national and international professional bodies in waste management with the intention of affording her membership business development opportunities. Members have access to latest information in the areas of business practice, technology and best practice necessary for business growth. Additionally, members have the advantage of international recognition.
- Professional and Career Development: The Society develops her membership through her Continuing Professional Development (CPD) scheme which is made mandatory by the Society’s Code of Conduct and Professional Ethics. All registered members are required to participate in the CPD activities of the Society to develop them professionally. As a recognized professional Body in Nigeria (Institute of Environmental Practitioner of Nigeria), membership of the Society benefits the professional recognition and standing of members.
